Biography
Hotaru (ほたる) is a Japanese actress. While studying at Tama Art University, she began her acting career performing in an underground theater company. In 1993, she made her film debut in Mibōjin mofuku no modae (Widow: Bliss in a Mourning Dress), directed by Takahisa Zeze. Since then, she has appeared in numerous pink films, as well as independent films, direct-to-video films, and television dramas. In 2007, she left the theater company and changed her name to Hotaru. She made her directorial debut with the film Kisushite (Kiss Me), released at K's cinema in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
