Deceived by Hong, Chang Lei loses his magic and is then arrested. Chang Lei is not willing to tell Kuo-chung about the whereabouts of the revolutionaries no matter how he is tortured. Niu asks the revolutionaries to save Chang Lei but Wang Fu-ming does not dare to act rashly. So Lao-chiu and Niu go to save him themselves but both Lao-chiu and Chang Lei are sacrificed. Kuo-chung tortures Chun=mei so as to force her to tell where Niu is. She is injured. Later, she runs away and is saved. Niu is moved by Mei who is wounded because of him. Su-chung is unhappy and goes to see her mother with Bao. However, they are caught by Kuo- chung.
